Alt.en is a company located in La Rochelle (France), founded in 1997 by people involved in nautical technology activities, at Philippe Pallu de La Barrière initiative, whom is a naval engineer and manager of CRAIN (Research and Development for Nautical Technologies).

Alt.en designs and produces transportation ships that aim to reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emission and more generaly impact on the environement

To achieve that, we have gathered the best competencies in naval architecture, design, hydrodynamics, electric propulsion and embedded energy to develop a global approach in the design of these ships

We have the capacity to produce custom ships that match customer requirement, taking into account economic aspects, service, design and passenger comfort.

We also assist the operator, providing ship maintenance and pilot training.
